abbey Fuelcards Customer Services and Marketing Manager, Steve Clarke, commenting on the contribution thatfuelcards can make to logging and analysing driver mileage, and to easing the associated administrative burdenfor companies and employees, says:
'The technology supporting Fuelcard services is already making a huge contribution to an easier life for fleetmanagers and their individual drivers – including mileage recording and analysis, and helping to cut the timeand costs necessary for administration.
At abbey, we’ve recognised that not every fleet operation has identical priorities or information needs. That’swhy all our card-members – whichever of our cards they carry – are offered a completely tailored service.Individual companies can define the terms of use of their cards: each may be personalised with the name of thedriver, or the vehicle registration – or both. And mileage logging can be made a requirement of each fueltransaction. All this data is captured during every refuelling stop so that a complete and continuous audit ofdriver or vehicle activity is available for analysis – and, as part of our service, we provide free reports that cancarry that kind of detail if required. The reports include MPG analysis, transaction detail report and an exceptionreport that will highlight any drawings made outside of parameters set by the individual customer. By definition, this itself saves a massive amount of time in office administration costs for each company member as thereports highlight only the information required. And, for the individual drivers, the administration needsassociated with fuel purchase and usage could hardly be easier.'
